The Problem
Fast fashion made clothing disposable — and in doing so, made the people who design and produce it invisible. An industry built on speed and scale compressed everything: margins, timelines, and dignity.
Independent designers — people with genuine vision and craft — are priced out before they start. Minimum order quantities, logistics costs, and the machinery of retail are built for conglomerates, not individuals.
We built Made By because we believe the way something is made is part of what it is. A garment with a story is fundamentally different from one without. And that difference should be legible — to the buyer, to the designer, to everyone involved.
How It Works
Artists keep half
Net profits split equally between Made By and the designer. No hidden fees, no obscured costs. We show you the numbers.
Upfront cost to the designer
We fund production. The designer funds nothing. If the drop doesn't sell, we absorb the loss — not them.
Credit where it's due
The designer's name is the product name. The manufacturer is credited on every drop page. We don't anonymize the supply chain.
Production
Every garment is produced by a manufacturing partner we work with directly and name publicly. We visit every facility before partnering. We pay above market rate, always, without negotiation.
The people who cut and sew these garments are credited on every drop page. Not as a footnote — as a fact. You deserve to know where your clothing came from and who made it possible.
